The Role
The environment was nice, colleagues were helpful and the workload was at the right level
I received a lot of help from other employees, they didn't mind me asking them a lot of qestions
The guidance was excellent. I was given enough support at the start and then I was encouraged to come with my own ideas and develop the project by myself, with the supervisor providing assistance only in critical situations.
There was a fair amount of work to do, good for learning a lot in a very short period of time
Apart from receiving the project requirements, I was allowed to come with my own ideas to develop the project
I have been working on a real project, so I've worked in the same way as a full time employee. I therefore got the skills required in future jobs.
The Company
It's an engineering company so the atmosphere is not spectacular, but it allowed me to concentrate on my project
The company gets many interns every year so the procedure is well-defined.
The company hosts a number of lectures every few weeks which you can attend, but except this, you don't get any specific training as an intern.

The Culture
Didn't meet other placement students
Cambridge is quite expensive, but you might be able to find some good deals in the summer when Cambridge students leave. Pub/club costs are the same as everywhere.
Cambridge is a nice city for nightlife, it's better when students are in the city (so until June), but it's ok throughout the summer as well.
Participated in a Dragon Boat race with the a company team, but didn't have any other activities with colleagues.
