The Role
I have really enjoyed my placement with Deloitte. For me, the particular highlights have been the levels of responsibility and the people.
People treated me as if I was a full-time employee, inviting me to employee events, and integrating me within their networks.
The strong majority of people were keen to offer help and advice and were always on hand to help deal with any queries.
As the work is client related I found it came in peaks and troughs, but working within a team I did not find this a problem.
I was by not stretch, "running the show", however I did receive certain levels of responsibility. As the duration of the placement went on I became more trusted and integrated within the team.
I feel like the placement and my time at Deloitte was much more valuable than my University studies.
The Company
A good working environment, where I was able to build personal as well as business relationships.
Very well organised, it can be a complicated process to bring an intern onto a team for a short period of time, but between the HR team and my department it was run smoothly.
The firm was keen to invest time.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Having worked with the firm and understanding what it is like I see the firm as my first choice for a future job.
The Culture
The social network built between other interns was fantastic as the majority of us were like-minded individuals.
The cost of living and socialising is very very expensive, but to be honest that doesn't stop it happening most nights.
There is a good selection of places to have a drink after work.
There are so many opportunities to get involved in Sports Teams and other groups.
