    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I had a really good time during my internship. I was in a medium sized office which was lovely so I got to know most people and was able to work on a variety of projects.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was given difficult work which showed they thought I would be up for the challenge.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Whenever I had a question there was someone around to answer it and everyone was really helpful. My Councillor was also very helpful when it came to the feedback meetings.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Sometimes I ended up with a huge amount of work, but I think this was because, I was a newbie , I didn't know how long each task would take, and would generally underestimate the amount of time needed. In hindsight I would try to give myself longer times to do things, but that's often difficult when working to deadlines.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given quite a lot of tasks with responsibility because deadlines had to be met for clients. Though I was glad that every bit of my work was checked before being sent out.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Yes the skills I have learned are skills for life!

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • People worked really hard but also had a quick chat by the coffee machines. It didn't feel like there were people breathing down our necks but equally there were always people around to ask questions to.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well. There was plenty of work for us to do.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They ensured we did the appropriate training courses so we would be able to use the software. Maybe a quick crash course in accounts would have been a good idea.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • All my feedback has been really positive.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We met up for drinks sometimes after work.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Quite expensive for a student, maybe on a graduate salary it wouldn't be such a problem.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • It was very good and exciting.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Plenty of opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work

    5/5
