The Role
A very pleasant workplace, the work I undertook was also interesting, engaging and appropriate to my level of skill.
My opinion was respected in all matters regarding my work, and all my colleagues were welcoming and showed interest in what I had to say.
Manager/Supervisors were available when I needed them, although it would have been nice to receive some regular feedback as I carried out my work, so I could tell how I was getting on.
There were some periods of downtime, possibly due to a slight lack of structure where tasks I was to move on to were not at the right stage for me to take on.
I was given free reign on my software projects, being allowed to design them as I wished as long as they were to specification.
I feel the skills I gained during my placement will be extremely useful in my future studies and beyond!
The Company
The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed, while still remaining professional.
The tasks I was given were very interesting and suitable, although I feel it would have been better if I had set goals/targets to strive towards lain out for me at the outset.
The majority of the development of my skills was left for me to undertake, however my colleagues were always on hand to give help or explain anything that I was having trouble with.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
The company has a structured 3 year graduate scheme, with aspects that I feel that any graduate would find very appealing.
The Culture
I was invited out to drinks with a group of colleagues, and all the summer students had lunch together every day, many of whom I am now friends with.
I was traveling from home to go to my placement, therefore I was not spending as much as I would've been if I was staying on my own.
The nightlife in Glasgow city center is great, always plenty to do/places to go.
Not really, most opportunities were offered to permanent employees of the company.
