The Role
Great environment, awesome team, very good hours = no complaints
Ate lunch with team, went out with team on social events after work
3 different reviews from HR, buddy system meant there was always someone to turn to.
There were times when my team was not available and I finished the work so had to wait for more.
Created an application from scratch with myself working as the only programmer of the application.
Practical experience of many theories that are hard to relate to at university. eg. design patterns, OOP concepts which are less useful in small projects but essential when scaling up to the size of the project I was working on.
The Company
The team I was in was a very technical team and it ended up that everyone was extremely nice, I saw no sniping or gossiping in all the time I was there. People would bring back food from trips and share it in the team, everyone would joke together, really good atmosphere.
Enough events to have variety from work but not too much to distract from the job. Range of work events + social events
Was given all the development tools I needed and upgrades to Office happened within an hour of my requesting it.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Don't know yet.
The Culture
Very good. Went out multiple times with workmates to dinners, go-karting, pub lunches, etc. etc.
Acceptable, not amazingly cheap but is completely expected. Living costs in London are higher but at the same time your pay makes up for that.
There are far better places to be in London for nightlife than Canary Wharf..
Firm organised events, social events organised by interns, events organised by workmates, etc.
