The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my summer placement, and gained a valuable insight into how a consultancy operates. There was a perfect balance of design work in the office and site work.
There were the occasional socials, sports events and team meals on a Friday that gave myself the opportunity to socialise with other colleagues within the organisation.
I was given comprehensive training by my supervisor at the start of the placement, which enabled me to work to my true potential.
Perfect balance.
I was given a major role in drafting deliverables to the client.
I gained a lot of transferable skills that could be added to my CV. These include communication, presentation and time management skills. Furthermore I have widened my software knowledge and capability.
The Company
Slightly dull, but as expected for a busy organisation like Atkins.
Good organisation.
Good software training and time spent to develop my understanding of the projects.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
They seemed to like me!
The Culture
N/A. No fellow placement students.
