The Role
I enjoyed learning about and being involved in the projects that I worked on and I felt that my work was an important contribution.
All of my colleagues spoke to me as if I was their equal, I never felt as though I was judged by them on my lack of experience.
I was given a lot of support and guidance from the graduate students and also other placement students that have been here a lot longer than myself.
At the beginning of the placement, I was quite busy for the first 2-3 weeks, however this began to die down and I was left with minimal amounts of work to do.
I feel as though my contributions to the airports team were very important and that they required a fair amount of responsibility.
I feel that I have greatly developed my CAD skills whilst on this placement and so this will be of some assistance to my degree studies and beyond. I do also think that I have learnt to be more organised whilst I've been here which will obviously have its benefits for when I carry on with my studies. However, with the lack of work that has been available, I don't think that I have developed many more skills than those mentioned above.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was never a bad one. Very rarely was there a moment where it felt tense in the office. Everyone was always cheerful (to an extent of course) and there was never any hostility or problems between staff.
The induction process and helping me to know/learn where to find things or who to speak to was very well organised and there was always help at hand when I needed it. The only issue with organisation was when I ran out of work to do. There wasn't enough work for me to do, however this isn't entirely the company's fault as it is dependent on how much work is available at the time and are there a big enough budget to be able to have me involved in the project.
The company invested a considerable amount of time and effort into making sure that I was accommodated for and that I was carrying out work that they felt I was capable of doing.

I would be more than happy to be employed by this company after I graduate as I feel that they are a very prestigious company that take good care of their employees and genuinely cares about them.
The Culture
The graduates and undergraduates were all good to each other and they were all welcoming whenever a new placement or graduate had started. We would often all go to lunch together and there were also social events that they organised for the grads and undergrads.
I commuted from home
I never experienced the nightlife here.
There were a few socials that were organised for the grads and undergrads whilst I was there and there were other events that were spoken about however I wasn't able to get involved with most of them.
