The Role
I enjoyed my internship at ARM very much. It was interesting, relevant to my studies in electronic engineering, I got to perform a lot of complicated and important tasks and meet a lot of people working in the industry.
All of the colleagues I worked with were very friendly, they did not hesitate to help me or answer any questions I had regarding my work. I was also given a reasonable amount of responsibility during this internship.
I had regular meetings with my project team, my supervisor and my technical leader. In these meetings my project progress was discussed and evaluated and I was given guidance with respect to any problems or issues that I was having.
I was relatively busy every day working on my project as I had to meet certain project deadlines. Nevertheless, I still had opportunities for brakes and also had meetings where I could relax and think about different things.
I was given a serious amount of responsibility during my internship. I was working on an important product and a group of people were relying on the progress and results of my work to help them with the overall progress of the project.
As the work that I was doing is very interesting to me and closely related to what I want to do after I will have finished my studies, I would say that all of the skills and training I received during this internship will benefit me a lot in the future.
The Company
The atmosphere in my office was very friendly and fun. There many days when someone brought in sweets for some occasion and people liked joking and were not serious all of the time. Nevertheless, everyone delivered their work on time when they had to.
I am very happy with they way my internship was organised. All of the IT related things were set up for me and ready to use, I was introduced to all of the relevant people I would be working with and knew where to look for information if I had any questions.
There were various training sessions available for me to join to be able to develop my skills in some area. In addition, there were regular lectures and talks held in the workplace that helped get a broader understanding of some of the technical topics.

I believe that there might be a high chance that I will return to ARM for a future job. The office is in a very nice location, I have already been trained to use all of the tools and environment and am aware of the structure of the company.
The Culture
There was quite an entertaining social scene amongst all of the interns working for the company. There were regular group emails and chats about events of different nature that all of the interns could attend.
The office was located in Cambridge, UK. This is not the cheapest city in UK. There are a variety of shops to choose from where to buy items and food that suit your needs and possibilities best, however the rent costs are relatively high.
There a lot of interesting activities to do in Cambridge after work, for example, social dancing, going out to various pubs or clubs and going to interesting restaurants. I would say that the nightlife is quite vivid.
There were quite a lot of opportunities to get involved in activities after work. The company has a variety of sports and social activities it does. In addition, it also has all company events, for example BBQs and parties.
