About You
The insight was very well organised in terms of work and socials and I met some fantastic people.
I feel like my department really appreciated the work I did, and I loved the fact that everybody knew who I was from Day 1 - even HR, who have so many names to remember!
I received a lot of feedback from my supervisor. He was a beyond excellent supervisor. My buddy was also exceptionally nice and was always available to answer my queries. They were the best supervisors/buddies I have had during any internship.
I think this really helped me see what kind of skills I will need as a commercial solicitor and there was no other way that that I could have an insight into this. So the vacation scheme was fantastic in this sense.
The Company
The insight was absolutely extremely well-structured by HR - both work-wise and socially! I was astounded by the amount of effort they went through.
I loved meeting the people I did and really enjoyed the work. The downside was that some candidates were slightly too competitive and I felt there was too much pressure to stay late at the social events, which was a bit of a problem due to the travelling.
They gave great pre-work training but there was not much on-the-job development. But I was very impressed with the extent to which they trained us in any case, and I was not expecting that much help.
I think it was the only way to gain this understanding! I was somewhat treated like a trainee and so I had a great experience!
I met so many different people and they gave me a lot of insight into their lives here. I understood the culture a lot better now than before I joined.
Everything Else
I was paid a living allowance.
There were very many opportunities! I thought it was great how we could mix not only with trainees and HR, but also partners and associates! I valued that a lot, as a previous firm I have been to did not let us do that.
There were many enjoyable events and I had a great time. Although I felt there was too much pressure to stay late and that was difficult to handle because of the commute home.
Yes, and I will be certain to join them should I get a job offer.
Yes, the programme is well structured and is the only way to get a job here and that is why people should definitely apply for the vacation scheme here.
