The Role
I've really enjoyed this internship, the work has been stimulating and challenging, but there's always someone to help you should you need advice.
Everyone is always really friendly.
I always felt like I could go to them when I needed help, whether it was just some advice or a problem I was really stuck on, nothing was too big or too small.
I always had things to be doing, but never too much that I felt snowed under.
I was in charge of my own projects, which was very enjoyable. Especially the second where I had complete control of the outcome as long as it fit the brief I was given.
I learnt so much about software engineering during my time here, going from a complete novice to being pretty competent with python and even creating my own widget. I also learnt so much about computers and how they work.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office is always nice and cheery, but busy as people concentrated on their work. It was a nice atmosphere to work in, not oppressive and not distracting either.
Very well organised.
I had lots of support to help me learn everything I needed to complete the task and I didn't understand anything my manager or mentor would always be willing to talk through it with me. I'm also due to attend a training session in my final week.
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
I would be really interested in working for them.
The Culture
At the beginning I was the only intern living in the shared accommodation but by the end things had picked up enormously.
Not too bad, plus the regular works drinks at the pub meant some nights it didn't cost anything.
Haven't been out to a club yet, but there a loads of great pubs everywhere..
Regular welcoming and leaving drinks.
