The Role
Very enjoyable and a valuable experience.
Work completed was appreciated with constructive feedback.
Great support and useful guidance.
Busy on most days, working on both individual and group projects on a day to day basis.
Reports and research were undertaken into current projects, contributing to company operations.
The skills and experience will be useful for future engineering employment as well as helping in university studies by an appreciation of the processes and ways to approach engineering problems.
The Company
The atmosphere was productive for concentrating on work as well as being relaxed to converse with colleagues.
Well organized, with a variety of projects worked on with different people, experiencing the different aspects of the company, as well as going on a number of site visits across Wales to see the projects first hand.
Fairly well invested in, by receiving company inductions and training in working in conformance to specific standards such as the Eurocodes.
Very appealing, due to the enjoyment of the placement and the work undertaken, especially after conversations with current graduate employees.
The Culture
There was a social scene but quite minimal, going for lunch only on the last week.
The cost of living was fine in the area, and socializing was also very cheap.
There is very much a nightlife in the surrounding area, busy with many students.
Not many opportunities for out of work activities.
