About You
A really enjoyable three weeks, from the interesting and sometimes challenging work to the brilliant socials and really friendly people. They spoil you with cooked breakfasts and nights out as well!
Most people are really friendly, particularly the more junior members of staff. Trainees are always willing to help or just chat. Partners are mostly busy and often don't have time to look at work they have asked you to do.
Trainee buddy to help you with the easier questions about formatting, the computer system etc. so you don't feel like you are annoying your supervisor, and people giving you work are always happy to explain in detail so you know the wider picture.
The research and knowledge skills will help in future. Some more mundane scheduling tasks not so much.
The Company
Mainly kept busy in the office, especially helps if your supervisor has lots for you to do. Seamless social calendar from breakfasts to evenings.
The department was friendly and got on really well with each other. Everyone on the scheme got on well and went out for drinks often after work.
I can't imagine how much it costs them to put us up, consider our lack of real practical skills!
Being there for three weeks, sitting with your supervisor and getting to know everyone up to Partners you get a great understanding of the roles in the firm.
Slightly less than "extremely helpful" because they are moving offices soon.
Everything Else
I was paid an ample amount considering how much they invest in putting events on.
Great social calendar.
Really fun bowling, pub quiz and Partner dinner as well as department drinks every so often.
Yes e.g. through breakfast briefings.
Yes, definitely for anyone looking to go into a commercial law firm.
