About You
Thoroughly: Sitting in one department for 3 weeks really allowed you an insight into some of the day to day tasks of solicitors
You don't feel at all like you are just being fobbed off with work to keep you occupied. You are doing real work that is actually contributing to client cases
Lots. The first few days involved lexis/westlaw/lawtel training as well as knowledge briefings/IT training. In addition the department made sure you had all the help you needed
Certainly the legal research aspect will be incredibly useful! In addition the teamwork, innovation skills developed during Project Nabarro will be invaluable
The Company
Can't fault it. We all received a calendar at the beginning with everything planned out. IT accounts up and running, dedicated desk and phone. All the staff were briefed and everything ran perfectly
Really good. Everyone on the scheme was good fun and a lot of effort was put into evenings out: bowling, samba and comedy!
A lot! The firm must have spent an incredible amount of time planning the scheme and then during the scheme they spent a long time on training and the supervisors put a lot of hard hours in!
It was a really useful experience. Obviously you are never going to get a full flavour as at our stage you cannot do all the tasks. However, getting to know the general atmosphere, how the firm works, seeing what sort of work people do etc was great
Really good: getting to chat to all the employees and meet all the non-legal staff really gives you a flavour of the environment
Everything Else
Paid £225/week
Yes they had organised a number of lunches (networking, partner lunch, meeting supervisors). The department also organised a lunchtime trip out for drinks
Really good-great chance to get to meet people both on the summer scheme and employees!
Yes, we had presentations on life outside Nabarro eg charity, pro bono, sports team!
Thoroughly enjoyed the 3 weeks and would happily have done it for no payment! Would recommend it to anyone pursuing a legal career!
