The Role
The placement was enjoyable. I liked the people, the project as a whole was very interesting. Slight downside is that I was unable to be fully integrated into some aspects of the project as I did not have the experience, which is justified in reality as I was only interning.
After 3 weeks, I was given a very important position in the project and every member of the team relied on me for specific duties.
No one was ever more than a foot away from me and unwilling to answer questions. The support is incredibly good.
Some days I would be very busy however some days not at all. It mainly all depends on your ability to approach people and ask for work.
I was set my own tasks and carried them out independently.
I have learnt some new excel skills and practised on various different computer systems, however I have not learnt a great deal about the consulting industry itself.
The Company
Very good. Better at Canary Wharf than in Blackfriars but enjoyable nonetheless.
The first day was misorganised and for the rest of the internship, whatever you did was at the disgression of your manager. I enjoyed that however as it gave a lot more freedom in the role.
You were encouraged to use KPMG Business School and were given help whenever you needed it.
Subsidised Canteen
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I would highly reccomend working here. It is a great place and with it's structured qualification process throughout your employment, is a great place to start your career.
The Culture
Very good. Interns were freely arranging social events and there were also events with teams.
London is expensive. End of really.
Did not go out with work friends.
