The Role
Good selection of work to due, some quite challenging, some straightforward (if a little monotonous), and some frustrating when things went wrong for no apparent reason. Overall good though.
Most close work colleagues made me feel well valued, though my line manager was only working in the office one day a week, so not such a great connection there.
Help was gratefully received, and quickly given by not just managers, but by all work colleagues.
Sometimes the lack of a line manager in the office kept me a little underutilised, for example when computer simulations were running in the background.
Given a significant project to work on, real life application and almost complete responsibility over my bit of the project
Not many new skills learnt but helpfull development of current skills learned at university as well as on previous placements.
The Company
Good office to work in, occasionally a little bit too cold. But very friendly, cakes being brought in to celebrate birthdays etc
Very well set up, induction and the first couple of days ran very smoothly and pre placement email contact was clear and concise
All the training that i required was provided for me
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Company Car
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Will probably work for them again
The Culture
Lively undergrad and postgrad community, with socials organised as well as lunch break table football games and frisbee throw arounds. The grads are very welcoming
Average costs
I didnt live in the city centre so as expected, no nightlife nearby
A good sports and social club runs, organizing many trips and activities. There were also regular grad socials to take part in. I also went along to a local frisbee teams training sessions which were good fun
