The Role
I really enjoyed my placement. As with all jobs, you go through phases where you may get a little bored etc but overall it has been a great experience.
Depends which colleagues! I do find that at NTCE a few people will go "Just get the IP to do it"...but other colleagues treated me brilliantly and I've made great friends here.
This is a hard question, because I have had 3 different mentors in one year. Each mentor has been there for me to ask questions, my manager has always been very patient with me in particular.
Depends what project we have on! Some days quite basic, some days really, really busy. Pretty good balance over the year! You always have something to do.
More responsibility towards the end, but would I would have liked my own projects to manage.
Taught me a lot about communication, general working office, attention to detail etc
The Company
Brilliant. Really loved where I sat in the office and have made great friends. Also a relaxed atmosphere, my senior and manager were both easy going with me.
For me, not so thought out. Only because I was the first IP for this department, so I dont think they really knew what to do with me. Projects that I was given fell through etc. No timeline, no objectives given to me really. I ended up doing quite a bit of general admin, but at the same time i got to work on some great events.
I never had any training or any personal development meetings.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
I would look at working for Nissan again, but maybe at a different site, as there is no marketing department at NTCE.
The Culture
Great to begin with! But sort of stopped after a few months which is a shame. There is a group made up of graduates to support IP's and other Grads/arrange social nights.
Reasonable. I live with another IP so that helps a lot! Nice to be so close to London.
Running joke is that every night out is at Lloyds MK! It's ok.
I haven't really spent much time in MK to know. There is a sports and social club at NTCE which is really well run and they offer some good deals on theatre tickets etc.
