The Role
I really enjoyed my time as a summer analyst, people here have been very friendly and encouraging. We get responsibility and projects that add value which make the experience rewarding, the culture of the bank is great and really reflects on the working environment.
People in the bank veiw interns are an integral part of the team. They are keen to coach you throughout and engage you in their day to day dealings making you feel part of the team and valued. This is particularly enhanced by the projects that we are assigned that entail working closely with different people and adding value.
The progream is an excellent way to learn a lot about the bank and the indusrty but it is also an great way to learn more about yourself. Mentors and managers were essential in this process they constantly encourage you to reach out to people, network, find out what suits you and challenge yourself. They are very appraochable and keen to listen.
There is a very good work life balance especially within transaction bankng. The workload really varied during my time as there were times I kept myself busy where there were instances were the work load cooled down and had the opportunity to reach out and learn more about the bank.
People here are willing to give you responsibility but you need to earn it. At the begining I had to run most of my work through my supervisor but as the time went by and I earned her trust I had more and more autonomy.
Bank of America provides a week of training which is essential for your time in tha bank but also broadens your understanding of the industry. In the same time I manged to develop my Excel skills but most importanly peoples skills which will definitely assist me in my studies and beyond.
The Company
The porogram was very well organised and we were assigned mentors and buddies which made our transition in the team really smooth as well as really help develop our potential.
We had a full week of training, the training covered technical skills such as Excel and accountancy training but also presentation skills and networking which definetly proved useful.
