The Role
It was very enjoyable. I got to perform a variety of tasks, learnt so much and got to meet many amazing people.
Everyone I worked with was really warm, friendly and approachable and I definitely felt valued by my colleagues.
I could always ask my colleagues any questions I had and they were always willing to help.
It was a very good balance. The workload was fair at all times. It was ensured that I had things to do at all times and if I finished a task, I could always ask for more work.
I was given responsibilities from the first day. I was never thrown into the deep end though, there were always people around for me to clarify my doubts with.
I have learnt a lot about teamwork, communication skills and time management and this will surely come in handy in the future. I also have a better understanding of how the audit process works and this will help with my degree studies.
The Company
I was not in the office too much as I was at the client's place quite a bit but when I was in the office, there was a very friendly atmosphere and everyone was really nice.
I thought it was very well-organised. I got to work on 2 very different clients and that enabled me to learn so much during the internship. The events we had like induction and Development Day were also very useful.
Besides the on-the-job training, we had a week-long induction(3 days in Northampton and 2 in the local office) and during this period, we had some technical audit training and an opportunity to meet people from the various offices across the UK as well. We also had a Development Day where we learnt about branding, presentation skills and so on.
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
There are a lot of career opportunities available within the firm.
The Culture
There were some social events after work on Fridays and that was great.
Bristol is rather expensive but I was living in my student apartment during the summer for my internship so it was not too bad.
Bristol's nightlife is pretty good.
We had a project which all the interns in the UK offices could take part in. Besides that, as interns, not so much but the office does have sports teams and activities going on outside of work.
