    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The internship was very well organized and I enjoyed working in the company very much. The internship offered me chance to see how it works in an international company on day-to-day basis but also to network etc. It was a great opportunity to have.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My colleagues in the department made me feel welcome and valued straight from the first day of my internship. I really felt like a proper part of the team and that enhanced the overall enjoyment from the internship.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • PwC's support system is by far the best one I have experienced and the management really helped me to get the most out of my internship. Absolutely great support and guidance.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was fairly busy on a daily basis and it was possible to manage one's workload and plan ahead quite effectively. Some of the days were more quiet but some of them I worked every minute of a working day. You are as busy as you organize it for yourself because there is always a work to do, you just have to find it.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a fair amount of responsibility and worked on variety of work which was only reviewed at the end by more senior colleague. Many projects I worked on were sent in the format and writing I myself had done before. By being proactive and interested you can get a good amount of responsibility.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • PwC's has run several development and training sessions on both soft skills and more technical side of the work I did during my internship. The training I received was fantastic and helped me to develop my skills for my degree studies but also mainly beyond for professional career and life in general.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The general atmosphere in my office was relaxing yet professional. It is absolutely normal to chat about work or other things and the atmosphere really helped to settle into my internship. I did not expect the atmosphere to be that relaxing and that really helps to get more out of your internship.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was organised very well starting with great residential induction week up until the very last day and exit interview. I had training sessions or team meetings on weekly basis and I was involved in great variety of work. Sometimes the work I was given was on ad-hoc basis, but that was mainly because of the nature of the work and the role as an intern. Therefore sometimes you were bit underutilized and the next minute you were overburdened with work. Overall it was organized perfectly to help get me the most of my internship.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company certainly made every effort to invest in me and develop my skills and knowledge. I was provided with residential induction week, technical office training, several development days and I also attended many training sessions with the team I worked in.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The future employment prospects within the organisations are very appealing and there is a great possibility to obtain a graduate role if you performed well during your internship. It certainly presents a great opportunity for your future professional career.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a very good social scene amongst all the interns and networking was facilitated by the fact that everyone was on the same boat. We spend quite a lot of time together even outside of the work.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Manchester is fairly average when it comes to the cost of living and socialising. There is no problem to cover your costs from the salary and still have enough money left over.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Manchester is one of the best cities for the nightlife and there are plenty of good bars and places to go to.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • The team organised a good amount of social activities that I was involved in. You can also get involved in activities run by different departments and overall there are plenty of opportunities ranging from different sports, dinners and etc.
