The Role
It was an insightful experience, and I was able to get a wide range of exposure
Definitely felt valued by my colleagues as they were very helpful and approachable - and of course, they also showed me what they were working on if it was an interesting project!
Fantastic support; I was amazed by how willing they were to sit down and teach me whenever I needed - regardless of their seniority.
My role was very technical, and that meant that I had to spend the first two weeks learning and being trained on the software and models used; only after which I was able to start doing actual client work.
Once I got settled in with the tools and procedures used, I was pretty much doing the work for clients (which would be checked by seniors before it got sent out), but it was fulfilling to actually contribute something useful!
Definitely an insightful experience, learnt a variety of skills, gained knowledge, and also made many friends here.
The Company
We often had socials and sometimes we would just take a few minutes break to chat in between; it is very much like how you would imagine working with friends.
The internship is very well organized - probably due to the fact that it has been running for many years now. Everything was structured appropriately to give me a flavour of the different departments, and we were well integrated into the company.
I was invited to attend all training sessions that were for employees - including training on new strategies and modelling which are at the top tier market information.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I have a week left to go with the internship, but the turnover rate seems to be very high!
The Culture
The interns were quite cohesive, and we were well integrated together.
Cost of living was covered by the company - while socialising was cheaper than the average.
Unfortunately the city itself is not bustling - but London central is only a train away
Definitely, the company often had socials - Rounders, Summer BBQs, soccer etc.
