The Role
It was really enjoyable as we were given the skills necessary to complete real client work in the first week and we were then able to put these into practise on client engagements for the rest of our internship. It was very well run and we had ongoing support and training, both on the job at on specific training days.
I felt like a normal member of the team and was given real client work to do, which helped the audit so I felt highly valued. I even took part in my team's Bake-Off!
We were given a Buddy and a People Manager and we went through the same objectives process as the firm's members of staff, which involved creating objectives at the beginning of the internship and then receiving feedback throughout the process. Our Buddy was there to answer any questions we had about the company or the role in general.
We worked hard but I think that is to be expected in a firm like PwC. Sometimes there was a lot of work to do but other times it felt more relaxed.
I was given responsibility in completing my own audit work and talking to relevant staff members at the client's office.
I developed both soft skills and on the job skills, which will help me when I begin my job at PwC and at university, when I have to give presentations and complete tasks.
The Company
I was on client site apart from training days so I didn't really get to experience the atmosphere in the office, but within my teams the atmosphere was really good.
It was very well organised and ran smoothly.
We received one week of training at the begininng and then had a development day half way through. Most of the training was done on the job, where in my case an associate guided me through how to do my work.

It compared with most cities outside of London
I only experienced some venues but they were good
There weren't many opportunities to get involved with activited outside of work.
