The Role
I really enjoyed my time working at PwC as the firm provided a range of opportunities for us to increase our understanding as to how their service lines operated, whilst ensuring we received a realistic insight as to the day to day activities we would be expected to carry out if we worked at the firm.
I felt extremely valued at the firm as all collegues were very willing to talk and listen to what you had to say, which was showcased through our invitations to local office events and activities.
I felt that support and guidance was always available, whether it be face to face or digitally and this ensured that I never felt lost or unsure as to what I was doing which meant I gained more from my internship than I would have done had less support been available.
A good balance was struck in regards to daily workloads as collegues understood that the work we were carrying out was unlike anything we had done before and so ensured that we would complete the work, but at a pace that was suitable to our limited knowledge and understanding.
By carrying out actual client work, a good level of responsibility was given to us.
I believe my communication and time management skills have both improved dramatically as a result of my internship and the skills I have developed have provided me with the foundations to achieve great things at degree level and beyond.
The Company
Everyone was very engaging, yet professional in the office which ensured a good balance.
It was perfectly organised as we knew weeks in advance where we would be placed during the duration of our stay.
We were invested in to a great extent as we spent the entire first week based off site learning about the various concepts which would be crucial to enhancing our internship understanding.
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing as the firm strongly believes in promoting from within.
The Culture
Yes, we all got on fantastically well as everyone had similar business minds and university experiences which resulted in us all becoming firm friends very quickly!
In specific, the cost of living in Cardiff is very reasonable which made our intership even more enjoyable.
The clubs and pubs are a twenty second walk away. It was brilliant.
Yes, we were invited to all office events such as local barbecues and end of month drinks, whilst I was specifically invited to play for the PwC football team.
