The Role
Work was enjoyable with enough variety to keep it interesting - with a variety of clients and a variety of tasks to do. You get involved in real client work throughout the internship. Everybody is friendly and there are activities, such as a weekly quiz, so there is always something interesting going on.
Colleagues always provided good feedback and always made an effort to ensure that I was doing ok. They were always happy to take questions and made an effort so that I felt part of the team.
You're given a buddy and a people manager when you arrive, with both of them helping to ensure that you can settle in nicely. Them as well as other people are more than willing to answer questions and help you to settle in.
Some days were more busy than others, sometimes just waiting for items to come in from clients or awaiting files. However, there is always plenty of work available if you email people or ask them if they need help with something.
Right from the beginning I was given work that was for clients and was an important part of each job. Each piece of work is always reviewed, but the managers tended to give work and expect you to ask questions about it.
Some of the work added upon work done at University in Accounting courses, but the work is different and instead it was more useful to help develop skills. Over the course of the internship I was able to interact with clients, develop more team skills, work with data in Excel and of course learn about PwC and their unique software.
The Company
The office being quite small, was good because you were able to meet people and your buddy or people manager was always available if you had any questions. Generally you'd meet the people you worked with again during the internship, which doesn't always happen at the bigger offices. The office was always interesting, with a weekly Friday quiz that everyone gets involved in.
Everything from the beginning was well organised, with the company having a clear process and structure to the internship. The training at the beginning has been evolved over the years and is based upon the graduate training so is well designed.
The first week involved training and induction events designed to help you get to grips with PwC and the processes. Over the course of the internship everyone is willing to help you, answering any questions to help you improve and learn more.

Most graduates receive a job offer from the company, with some able to transfer Line of Service and Office if needed - but this does depend upon the business allowing it.
The Culture
In Milton Keynes there aren't many interns, but it's a good experience when you meet up with all of the interns at the beginning and end of the internship. There are plenty of Office social events and drinks to get involved in as well.
Milton Keynes can be quite expensive sometimes in the centre, but a short journey away things are cheaper, and of course, being outside of London it is cheaper than other offices. Milton Keynes has plenty of bars, restaurants, cinemas and shops.
Milton Keynes has plenty of bars, restaurants, cinemas and shops.
There are usually many events going on in the Office, with drinks, football, cricket or other things. During our internship we got to go on the annual Away Day, a trip to Woburn Safari Park and Go Ape.
