The Role
It was a very intense experience. You have to be prepared to work hard and do some quite challenging tasks, however the people are fantastic - they have all been very nice and ther have been some good social events too!
Superiors seemed to really value the work I put in. It appears that they operate a system whereby they trust you unless you give them a reason not to. Hence, you really felt as though what you were doing was productive and worthwhile.
The support network is fantastic. Simple issues can be brought up with your buddy who is a first year assigned to help you out with basic things like setting up the printers etc. You also have a people manager who is there to help you with more formal issues such as receiving feedback and guidance as to how to approach your jobs.
Every day I had plenty of work, I was never once stuck for something to do. Even when your job didn't have a lot to do there was always someone who wanted to snatch you up and give you some small tasks. Occasionally though it was possible to feel a little overwhelmed, but I think this is natural, and preferable to boredom.
It was effectively left up to you in which order you do jobs, how you get in touch with other emplyees, it is totally up to you to demonstrate the initiative to find your own work.
I have learnt a lot about myself on this internship. I learnt I have a greater capacity for learning than I was aware, but most importantly that I have the ability to learn from feedback, which is an important skill to develop for this company.
The Company
People were lovely and there was a lot of good chat going on.
Everything ran smoothly and there was very few points where it was uncear as to what you were doing. The programme was immensly supportive.
They really do put as much into the internship as you do. They make sure that you have everything you need and they treat you as a full time employee.

Almost all interns receive a job offer as the screening beforehand is so intense that most of the prople who get the internship are capable of doing the job.
The Culture
There were several nights out and social events ranging from horse racing charity events to promotion drinks.
Glasgow is a great city for going out with plenty to do.
Glasgow is also a vibrant city.
