The Role
My internship exceeded my expectations! I had the opportunity to get involved with such a variety of work and get involved in many high level discussions. The internship was really well organised and I felt like I was genuinely contributing to the team project and adding value. Everybody that I worked with was lovely!
Everyone I had the opportunity to speak to made a real effort to make me feel like a part of the team and I felt very welcomed.
I had the opportunity to work with people at the top of the firm and they were just as welcoming and supportive as anybody else. They made the time to explain their roles to us and give us an insight into what they did at PwC. I had the opportunity to shadow them for a day and attend their meetings which was really exciting!
I never felt that I didn't have work to do or that I had too much. We were allocated to specific projects beforehand so we knew what we would be doing. In the case where I finished my work quicker than expected, there was always something that I could help with.
I was given the opportunity to work independently and on real client work, which meant what I would be doing would eventually become part of what the firm sent the client - this was really exciting!
Above all, I have gained confidence in a business environment which is the main skill I will take forward. In terms of audit, I have learnt a huge amount as a result of the training days we have had and on the job experience. I will be taking this forward and hopefully build on this and develop my accountancy knowledge.
The Company
One of the things I enjoyed most was the constant friendly atmosphere in the office, which meant I was comfortable in my working environment and found it really easy to get on with everyone. It also just made working more fun!
From the induction training to our remaining five weeks in the office, I was allocated to specific projects. This meant I knew what I would be doing and was able to plan ahead to get the most out of my short time with the firm.
PwC invested heavily in me; I didn't expect that level of training and time to go into such a short programme and I felt we were equipped with all the information necessary to make a success out of our internship!

I shall hopefully be joining the firm next September!
The Culture
There were often social events planned for the evenings which was a really good way of meeting more people and catching up with those I had already worked with. In fact, there was a social planned for our first day in the office where we went to watch a circus show - it was a great evening!
London is quite an expensive area but having lived and studied here it was nothing new.
There is always somewhere to go in London, whether that be for drinks, food, theatre or comedy.
There were numerous social events.
