About You
I absolutely loved my 3 weeks at the firm.
I was really incorporated into the teams I worked on and was given valuable and useful work to do.
Each of my supervisors explained the tasks well and spent time with me to answer any questions I had about the firm.
I think that I have really been learnt how to deal with challenging situations.
The Company
Really well thought out timetable and lots of varied events. A couple were a little chaotic in their organisation though.
Great balance of work and play, all the trainees and vac scheme students really got into it and participated fully in everything.
They gave us a great deal of extra training sessions on everything from research to aspects of law that Hogan Lovells deal with.
All of the presentations we were given by lawyers at the firm related to their day to day work and the challenges they face, giving us a very clear picture.
They were incredibly friendly, and although everyone clearly worked hard there is definitely not a culture of staying late for the sake of it. We were given very frank and open access to each department we sat in.
Everything Else
£300 a week to cover expenses.
There were mentor events with the trainees at the firm as well as a summer reception in the second week where lots of trainees and partners turned up. There were also opportunities in the departments, such as team meetings and lunches. One department I sat in even had a champagne reception on the Thursday as someone was about to get married!
Great mix, well thought out, and they were all fairly laid back.
There was a talk on pro bono and charity work.
Had an amazing three weeks, learnt so much about the firm and myself.
