The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed working for Grant Thornton. The people in the office made me very welcome and I looked forward to coming into work each day. Being out on audit was also a great experience and the teams in which I worked really made me feel valued.
I felt like a valued member of each audit team that I worked in. I was assigned valid tasks to complete which contributed towards the audit and helped other members of the team with any work they required .
When out on audit the in-charge members of the team were fantastic in ensuring I felt comfortable with what I was doing and I could always count on them for advice or help in any situation.
I was more busy when I was out at a clients site completing the audit compared to when I spent time in the office. However, asking for work and looking to help others ensured any spare time was put to good use.
I was given tasks to complete which fitted in to the bigger audit picture so in that sense I was responsible for part of the audit which is important
I learnt to develop further attention to detail which will aid my studies at university as well as learning to make good first impressions and get on well with others in a team. These are valuable life lessons
The Company
The office atmosphere ensured I looked forward to coming into work each day. Everyone is cheery and friendly whilst focussing on tasks at hand.
I didn't really know what to expect but it seemed to run very smoothly. Everything was put in place from day 1 and I knew exactly which person to go to for different things.
I spent two days at Bradenham Manor on an intern presentation workshop. This was a fantastic experience and really shows how Grant Thornton invests in its interns. I gained so much from the two days in terms of learning skills to take forward in life not just in the work place.
Travel loan
Grant Thornton would be a great place to work.
The Culture
Although we are good friends, social opportunities were limited as there were only 3 of us and most weeks we were in different locations completing audit work.
Not too expensive as I was staying at a friends house. These internships further teach us to budget with food too!
fantastic. Bristol is a great scene for a night out, it is lively but also very safe.
There were opportunities to take part in fundraising activities of our own accord
