The Role
Great, was given lots of responsibility early on. People were concerned about my well-being and wanted to make sure that I was involved in the projects I wanted to be involved in. Lots of opportunities to learn from senior management, who were always willing to take time to speak.
Was trusted to work on items that went straight to clients from very early on.
Extensive network of support available: people to help you grow professionally and people to help you grow personally as well. Good to know there was always someone available to approach if I had a question regarding anything.
Lots of work available to learn a lot in the short time of the internship. People were always making sure that we were comfortable with the work we had. No pressure to take on more than we could handle.
There were quite often opportunities to act outside of the role as an intern. Interaction with senior inidivuals in terms of delivering work on projects was very common and made one feel as part of the team.
Was able to work in the teams within the bank that I was most interested in, which was a great learning experience. People in the teams were extremely helpful in explaining certain processes and in making sure that I understood everything that was going on.
