The Role
Towers Watson has a good people and social culture which made it really enjoyable. Also the work is varying and interesting.
Colleagues value the work you do for them and are happy to give it to you.
Good supervision and support from buddies. All colleagues are happy to answer questions you have and to explain in more depth complicated subject areas.
This in reality depends on your office and work naturally increases and decreases. If in the London office you can expect to be busy most of the time. Sometimes you will suddenly gain a lot of work while there are also much quieter periods. On the last few days of the internship your work naturally decreases.
You are given a good amount of responsibility when it comes to the pieces of work you are set. Normally your work will be checked multiple times and any corrections given back to you. However there is always support on hand if you get stuck.
I have had a good amount of training in software packages relating to Pensions work and this will definitely assist me if I end up working full time for Towers Watson. Further you improve your presenting skills and communication skills through the Intern Project.
The Company
The atmosphere is generally good in the office. Everyone is extremely nice and helpful. Furthermore there is a good year group of grads and interns to socialise and talk to. Overall I would say the atmosphere was very good to work in.
The internship was well planned in terms of different events and training. You are also allocated a buddy to help support you and to give you work. Generally work can come from different people all over the office, and this variety can make the internship very worthwhile.
Very good training to get you accustomed to different programs that are key to the work you do. There are also numerous learning and webinar events you can listen and learn from.
Subsidised Canteen
Future employment prospects are apparently very good within the company. Once you have followed the internship you should hear whether or not they wish to offer you a job. A majority of interns are offered one. If I am offered one I would probably accept it.
The Culture
There is a very good social scene in the company. This included pub quiz's, events, sports and more. There are also celebrations for exam results. There is a good graduate year group who do different events.
London socialising prices are obviously expensive.
London nightlife is very good, and Leicester Square etc is easy to get to.
There are various opportunities including Cricket, Frisbee and Hockey teams. There are also social events throughout the year
