The Role
I really enjoyed my internship and would definitely recommend it to others.
Everyone was really friendly and approachable and I was really made to feel part of the team.
The partners and the whole team were all very supportive and gave plenty of guidance and help when necessary.
The workload was quite varied, some days were very busy, but the majority were quite quiet. However this could have been due to the fact that it was July/August and holiday season, a time that is apparently usually quiet.
I was given plenty of responsibility and I felt the work that I did was important and actually made a difference.
I currently study a non-cognate degree, so what I've learnt won't help me a great deal in my degree at the moment, however I feel like everything I've learnt will be extremely useful when undertaking a property related post-graduate degree and working in this field in the future.
The Company
Everyone in the office were really friendly which gave it a good general atmosphere
I think the internship was well organised, however, as it was organised in the London office, I feel my office didn't know about certain details such as debriefing.
I will be contacted in about a month to hear whether I will be given an interview for the graduate scheme, which I would love.
The Culture
I was the only intern in the office so therefore had nobody to socialise with who was in my position. However, the department I was in was quite social and they took me out for a farewell lunch when leaving.
I lived at home during the internship so therefore found it very cheap.
Birmingham has a wide variety of great nightlife.
Unfortunately in the time I had been there there hadn't been any outside of work activities, however since I've been there there has been emails sent around organising a pub quiz, a 5-a-side football tournament, and charity abseiling for the near future, so I imagine that if I was there for longer there would have been more of an opportunity for this.
