The Role
Great experience overall and exposure to working in such a large corporation, thoroughly enjoyed my experience.
Always received great feedback after projects had been completed and received a lot of praise.
Most of the time I was given support, however it is sometimes solely up to you to be independent and get on with the work you have been given. There is always someone there to help out if ever in need of assistance.
Very busy at the start of the year but got less busy towards the end as a result I participated in a lot of voluntary work and helped out other teams.
Given a lot of responsibility by my teams and task manager, which did make me feel valued and I learned a lot of skills that I will be taking with me back to University.
Really great experience, should definitely apply and IBM is a great company to work for! I will be applying back as a graduate.
The Company
Did not have my team around me, they were based in different IBM locations. I would have preferred to sit around in a team rather than have most of my meetings over conference calls.
Very organised, the personal development managers are great and help guide you through your placement year!
You can do loads of personal training and develop your skills, whether it be workshops
Flexi Time
Working from home
Have applied back to the graduate scheme!
The Culture
Great nights out were organised, Christmas parties etc.
Expensive, but I lived with my parents at home so I only had to pay for my commute to work and lunch.
It's London- awesome!
Yes, lot's of voluntary activities.
