The Role
Fantastic internship, I thoroughly enjoyed it and encourage people to apply if they have interest in working in the banking industry. It was very insightful for me and I learned so much.
I did feel valued by my colleagues. It was a great, fast atmosphere to work in, but they still found the time to welcome me to the team which was great.
I was given the assistance I needed by my manager. Of course, they expect you to work out a lot of things, but don't be afraid to ask burning questions that would stop you from getting any work done. They are there to help.
I would say I was very busy on a daily basis. It was quite nerve racking at times when I thought I wouldn't meet the deadline, but all turned out well and the hard work paid off.
I wasn't responsible for much at the start of the internship, but at the end I was responsible for a small project. Although it wasn't a large project, I still relished the opportunity of being an integral part of the team.
The skills I have gained were second to none. Working in such as fast paced environment, I definitely think I gained skills that I will use in the future.
The Company
I found it to be quite quiet in the office, although it was a nice environment to work. It was very work-focused though which was perfect for getting work done.
It was very well organised I felt. Great events and timely communication from the team in charge, and we could ask any questions if we were unsure about any of it.
The company definitely invests a lot in training for interns and even more for full-time employees. It was great to see this and gives me and idea of the development I will be able to see in my career if I join the company full time.
Subsidised Canteen
I thoroughly enjoyed it and would love to come back to work here. Having completed the internship, and put it on my CV I think it is a great addition. I hope to receive an offer in the near future.
The Culture
The social scene was great and there were quite a few other interns to socialise with. I found it great and I made some friends for life, from all over the world which was amazing.
The city of London is fairly expensive, although the internship pay should help greatly in covering every day costs.
The nightlife in London is one of the best I think. A lot of things to do for everyone and you can meet a lot of new people. Great fun, on the whole.
There were quite a few events scheduled for the interns after work. Some of these involved the interns only and some of them even involved employees from the company who came to talk about work at the company. Was a great way to meet new people, it was worthwhile.
