The Role
I really enjoyed my placement year at SAP, I had a great team and great job responsibilities.
I always felt valued by my colleagues - I never once felt like I was being treated as an intern.
When I first joined SAP I was assigned a buddy - unfortunately this person soon left SAP. The team I had were extremely support of this and I was soon assigned another buddy. I had consistent 121's with my manager which enabled the support I needed to be given.
How busy I was fluctuated throughout the year. There were some times that were extremely busy and then other times that weren't - this downtime was useful though, because it allowed me to catch up on some of the less important admin tasks that still needed actioning.
I feel like responsibity grew constantly throughout the year - which is how I think it should be. It worked quite well, the more responsibility I was given, the more my confidence grew, which enabled me to perform better whilst carrying out my next task or project.
I think that a lot of the skills I have developed whilst on my placement at SAP will benefit me when I return to my studies.
The Company
We had a really good atmosphere amongst my team which was one of the reasons I believe my placement was so enjoyable.
All of my equipment was ready when I arrive (laptop etc). However, I didn't receive a mobile phone until my second to last months which is a shame because it really allowed me to add mlore value to my team and the role I was undertaking.
I actually undertook a number of training events and also ran a couple which was really insightful.

Working from home
Yes I would definitely return back to SAP given the chance.
The Culture
Yes
We ended up going into Central London quite often but as I lived at home it didn't cause me too many problems at all.
Richmond and Twickenham are the nicest areas around the office which aren't far at all.
