The Role
I contributed to a variety of small projects, the majority of which were quite interesting.
The majority of employees were very friendly and happy to help.
More support could have been given, however the only reason enough support wasn't given was because managers were incredibly busy with other more pressing deadlines.
It took quite a while for an actual project to be organised, and when they were completed there were often phases where no work was given.
Not a lot of responsibility was given, work never really had deadlines
The experience of working in a professional environment will definitely have provided me with beneficial skills for future employment
The Company
Although people were obviously working hard, there was a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere
After such a lengthy application process, I was expecting more structure to the placement. The full responsibility of what the interns would be doing over the placement went to individuals in the office.
Training was available to interns if they required it, however the courses offered didnt apply to my job role
Fast Track to the graduate scheme availible
The Culture
Not many other placement students around
Cheap rent and food, although local area wasn't that nice
Birmingham city centre only a bus ride away
ELS scheme, money provided for skills improvement, from language classes to sky diving
