The Role
I really enjoyed my internship- it was great having so much variety in the work, feeling useful and working in such a close knit team.
The office had a really nice atmosphere as everyone got on well and absolutely anyone was willing to listen to me or answer my questions. At no time is there any awkward silences and you are made to feel like one of the team. It is great how much interaction there even is between interns and managers and how they will make time for you.
My manager was brilliant, always having all my travel plans sorted, popping up on email when he hadn't seen me in a while and even meeting me on the train on my first day.
This purely depended on the day/client. My first and last weeks were less busy due to training/exit admin therefore I couldn't really plan work as I didn't know how much I needed. However, during the most part of my internship, I was busy with a constant supply of work which was great! Lets you get so much experience in your short space of time.
I was given quite a bit of responsibility in completing schedules and tasks on my own which is a great way to learn.
I developed skills in presenting, communication and organisation as well as illustrations of how what I learn in uni works in a practical line.
The Company
I found my office incredibly friendly and everyone got on really well. There was never awkward silences and I was never afraid to ask a question.
Very well organised- all my travel and training was set up along with meetings I needed and all my jobs were in place for me to see on first day.
A lot of time and money invested in us as we are sent down to London and Manchester for training and orientation. Everyone wants you to do well which is a great feeling!
Got a graduate offer with them.
The Culture
Many social events and variety for everyone- pub quizzes, bowling, races which are great fun and really allowed me to get to know people more, as well as dinners and lunches out.
You can claim expenses for anything relatable that you incur.
Nightlife is good but didn't have time to experience it much
Only attended social events really but opportunities are there.
