About You
Really good fun. There were a number of opportunities to really get involved in the work and at no point did I ever have nothing to do - in fact far from!
Every piece of work that I did had somebody spend their time to look over it and to say how I had done, and when I had done something well, they made sure that my supervisor knew to that affect which was really nice.
You get allocated a trainee mentor as well as your rotating supervisors - both of whom gave really good help and support especially in the lead up to the interview.
I don't know as of yet, but I imagine needing to be succinct will be useful.
The Company
Very well timetabled and everyone knew what they were doing. There was a project though that you ideally should get working on as quickly as possible as once you got half way through the scheme it was quite difficult to find the time for it.
Everybody really is as nice as the stereotype of Hogan Lovells suggests - though don't be fooled, everyone is also totally on the top of their game; just the atmosphere was very friendly.
They gave a lot of training and presentations specific to the legal sector not just the firm from a number of really good individuals.
Apart from an awareness of the true hours, I fell as though we were treated much like new trainees.
You really get immersed in the different aspects of the firm from the beginning.
Everything Else
For those that need to find accommodation in London and do not study there/have somewhere to stay, it might be a bit of a push at the money paid, though it does seem to be the standard rate amongst London law firms.
A number of opportunities several times a week
Really good fun and quite informal. Even with the partners, you could ask most questions you wanted to.
There are a number of invites to things such as the cricket or pro bono groups.
I really enjoyed my time here and had a really good experience.
