The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my time in GTS at BAML and would recommend the internship to anyone wanting to work in banking.
My colleagues were very welcoming when I arrived and since then they have involved me in a number of different projects and deals.
I meet with my line manager every week to discuss workload and how things are progressing. I can be honest with him and he has supported me throughout.
Generally the workload was just at the right level and was challenging but not overwhelming.
I was given a lot more responsibility than I expected. I was allowed to attend two client meetings and circulated write ups around the division. Also parts of my work were included in two separate RFP's.
I have learnt a huge amount during my time at BAML; primarily about GTS but also about other areas of the bank. I have received a lot of constructive feedback and I am definitely leaving the bank with a skill set that will be useful in any job going forward.
The Company
My team was very sociable and we had team lunches each week, team drinks each week and a volunteering day where we all went gardening together. I felt fully integrated into the team by the half way point of my internship.
The internship was really well-organised and I can't think of any occasions where mistakes were made.
There is a real focus on training and personal development, so I am carrying out several MyLearning courses and have been to several training events.

I don't know yet if I have a job offer or not.
The Culture
There were intern drinks every week and we all socialise together across divisions.
It's London so fairly expensive, especially the rent if you want to live anywhere central.
The nightlife is a lot of fun. There are several good bars near BAML, Madisons in particular.
There were volunteering days, a tag rugby match and an interbank race.
