The Role
I really enjoyed the work and got on very well with my team and other colleagues. Due to my lack of accounting knowledge there were some jobs I couldn't do, but I didn't feel disadvantaged vs. other interns from accounting backgrounds.
I was given plenty of work that was useful to my colleagues and saved them time. I was even allowed to write part of a report that went to a client.
My supervisors answered any questions I had, gave me plenty of work and checked I was busy and ok with my work on a regular basis.
Due to the nature of the department I was in (TAS) summer can be a little quiet. Despite this I still has work to do most of the time and started my own research project to fill my spare time.
Whilst I wasn't given the most amount of responsibility due to the nature of the work, I was asked to do some important tasks and left to do them on my own.
My internship was not directly relevant to my degree, but has helped with excel skills, report writing and confidence in professional meetings and the wider professional context.
The Company
The atmosphere varied from team to team, but many had lunches and evenings out together and everybody seemed friendly and relaxed.
Very well organised. The summer internship team have thought of everything from induction and socials to a black tie dinner send off.
There was a full 4 day induction followed by continuous support from colleagues and a comprehensive online learning site.

I'm hoping to hear whether or not I have a job offer within two weeks - I'll definitely take it!
The Culture
Other interns were very friendly. We had a budget to spend on an evening social and had many lunches together.
I lived in York, whilst working in Leeds. Costs were very reasonable.
Plenty of nightlife in Leeds!
I volunteered running a day for local sixth form students and was helping to organise a CSR day for my team.
