The Role
Really well organised and everyone at EY made in enjoyable in terms of team socials and all helped when it was needed
Took the time to explain deliverables to me, and always checked up on me to see whether I was doing any work, needed more work and always thanked me for any work done. Took the time to really get to know me at the beginning too.
A lot of support in terms of the background of project and what I could do to make me stand out was given. Also whenever I was struggling I never felt worried about asking someone or letting others know.
A bit of downtime but also participated in projects outside of client work which ensured I was kept busy. A bit quieter at the beginning and end but it took a while for me to get into the work, know what I was doing and gain knowledge about the industry.
A lot of responsibility for client work and business development, but also always reviewed the work I completed with my team which really helped to find out what they were looking for and expecting
In terms of presenting and networking, useful skills were learnt!
The Company
Always chatting, very friendly and always a laugh!
Team were very helpful in giving me work and organising my time between projects. Sometimes HR were hard to contact, but other contacts at EY meant I always got the information I needed in a timely fashion
Many partners gave sessions at the beginning, and the CEO held a call. A lot of people high up in the company seemed to care!
Company Parties/Events
Vision 2020 (EY doubling) means employment opportunities are huge and growth in the company and moving up the ranks is huge
The Culture
Everyone seemed up for going up for drinks and dinner on a Friday - sometimes it can be hard to organise because people aren't all in one place especially if you're on a client site
London is expensive! But the salary allows socialising and living well
London nightlife speaks for itself - so much to do but it can be very expensive.
There are a lot of sports clubs to get involved in. Also, as EY invest in art and sponsor events at the Tate, there are opportunities to see galleries for free which would otherwise require payment
