The Role
I was given a project to complete during my 6 week internship, the content of which was relevant to my courses at university. Moreover, the content pertained to subjects which I thoroughly enjoy.
My colleagues were extremely welcoming; not only did they always invite me out to lunch but also often invited me to gatherings in the evenings.
Along with being helpful, my colleagues were also extraordinarily helpful and I was never turned away if I asked for help.
I am a person who enjoys being pushed extremely hard and I am happy to say I was never bored during my internship. In fact, I had so much to do that I could not complete everything in my time there.
I was given a lot more responsibility that I thought I would be; my manager did not feel the need to continue to verify my work after the first few times and he quickly developed trust in my work. This motivated me to work harder and be even more thorough than I would normally be.
The skills and knowledge were priceless and will help me in many of my courses in the upcoming year. I also expect them to continue to be useful once I have finished my degree.
The Company
The office had a well balanced atmosphere; everyone worked hard almost all of the time but in the short breaks we had, the humour between the colleagues was very enjoyable.
Some of the administrative tasks proved to be troublesome, such as filling out my timesheet. However I expect this to be the case in all large organisations.
This question does not apply for a 6 week internship because of how short it was. Nevertheless, as I previously mentioned I was never turned away whenever I asked for guidance or help. In fact, I also received a lot of helpful advice on my career plans.

Company Parties/Events
I was told by the team leader that the team would love to have me back.
The Culture
Although there were other interns in the larger Oil&Gas division, there were no interns in my team and I did not have much interaction with the others.
The cost of living and socialising was slightly cheaper than my university, but still fairly expensive. However I was able to get free accommodation, so it worked out well in the end.
The nightlife wasn't that special because the office was located in quite a suburban town, but central London was only a half an hour's train away.
Throughout my internship there were several opportunities to socialise with my colleagues after work.
