The Role
Wasn't too stressfull- left the office by 6pm each day. People were friendly, there was a good amount of work to do.
The majority of people were very friendly and always invited us to the socials!
We were assigned a buddy who was always happy to answer any questiosn we had
Noramlly had a decent amount of work to be getting on with, occasionally there wasn't much to do- but this was never for too long.
More than i expected- you are given takss which teh grads also do so definietly are important. Obviosuly we weren't running the show as we were interns and weren't expereinced enough. We were givn our own project to complete in teams with people in Aon offices all over the country which is 100% left to you to run, this was really enjoyable and one of the best parts!
I study Chemistry at Uni and did pensions in my internship- completely different! However, I did imporve my Excel skills considerably and learn a lot more about the pensions industry
The Company
The office was fairly quiet, so it depends on who you end up sitting next to as to how much fun you had on a daily basis. I got on well with the guy next to me, but was lucky to have beebn placed next to him.
The whole thing seemed to have been organized well.
Everyone that gave us work sat down and explained what we had to do and the wider context of it all
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I'm not compeltely sure, but the word on the street is that there aren't that many grad jobs going this year. However, last year there were qutie a lot mroe going so its just luck depending on how many vacanceis they have.
The Culture
Again this depends on who else is on your floor. I was one of 6 interns on my floor and we always had lunch together and went to the pub quite a bit. I also got on erally well with my team of interns aroudn the country working on the same project, so we always caught up when we met in London for events.
Central London, quite expensive.
Being in central London means there are numerous places to chose from!
There were several things that happened during the intersnship. A weekend away in leeds for a sports tornament between other Aon offices, a pub crawl etc
