The Role
Having previously done the same program last year, I found the internship very repetitive.
All the staff are lovely and are happy to help with any questions you may have.
It was hard to find time when my manager was free. Spent a lot of time making myself busy.
After getting started on the project, I found myself very busy. However, as soon as this was completed I struggled to keep myself occupied.
I was given the responsibilty to change aspects of how the branch works during my project. I had little responsibilty when it came to helping customers out with queries as I did not have access to the correct training.
I completed some mandatory learning during the first week of my placement which enabled me to understand the workings of a branch.
The Company
Everyone was lovely and didn't treat my like I was just an intern.
I found myself having to organise the placement myself. We got given a handbook at the start to follow but after completing this in the first few weeks I found there was nothing else for me to do unless I organised trips out of branch for myself.
They were happy to allow me to take trips out of the branch to meet different people in order to network. This has helped me make connections for the future.

I would be happy to complete another internship but would like to experience another part of HSBC other than retail.
The Culture
There were always events being organised and socials after work.
I was living at home during the internship.
Student city so nightlife is very good.
I had the opportunity to get involved with fundraising outside of working hours.
