The Role
All the people in my office were welcoming and I felt like I fitted in really well. The office had a great relaxed atmosphere yet everyone also had a good work ethic. I was allowed into client meetings which was great, and given a wide range of work on many different client projects. The only reason my overall rating isn't higher is due to the occasional day where there wasn't any work for me to do.
Everyone was very welcoming and friendly, and I was included in all team and department meetings and socials.
My buddy really helpful when I was settling in, and then later whenever I needed some guidance or information.
Some days were slightly lacking in things to do - there weren't any projects set up for us when we came in so the first week or so was spend trying to persuade people to give me work! Although without any actuarial qualifications it must have been quite hard for my colleagues to find me work of appropriate responsibility and difficulty.
Some people gave me quite a lot of responsibility - these tended to be more senior people who had the ability to delegate out client work.
Really good actuarial and business-specific training - have definitely learnt a lot. I will definitely be using my Excel training again.
The Company
Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere - if you wanted to take holiday, go to a medical appointment or leave early it was never a problem.
The recruiment process was well organised and I received feedback quickly after each stage. However, we didn't hear our starting date until 6 weeks before which was slightly difficult to work around. It also would have been better in our first week or two if there had been work set up for us when we came in (even if it was just a fake project) to keep us busy.
We were given an hour or two of training every day for the first week, then allowed to sit in on the graduates' training too.

I haven't heard about whether I have a job with KPMG yet but I would certainly like to be offered one.
The Culture
I got on well with the other intern in my department, but there were no organised socials for the interns for the whole time, which there seems to be at many other companies. However, I went on several team socials and they were really fun.
London is expensive!
London
There were always people heading for drinks on Friday night, team socials planned, and I know there are many opportunities to get involved with sports teams or societies.
