The Role
Absolutely loved it- engaging work, interesting clients and a fantastic team of people!
Everybody was happy to answer questions, no matter how stupid- they went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
My counselling manager kept in close contact with me throughout the internship and did his best to accomodate my own objectives, such as talking to a partner about long-term career opportunities.
I only spent about 3 days in the office over 6 weeks- the rest of my time was spent out on client sites!
As soon as you are happy with the basics, BDO give you total responsibility for an aspect of the audit- the pressure is on to do well, but the reward and satisfaction is immense.
Not relevant to my degree particularly, but I am not intending to use my Chemistry degree in my career!
The Company
Month end drinks, week end drinks, national football tournaments- there was a great social atmosphere at BDO
Very well structured, never a dull moment!
BDO is very keen to hear what your career objectives are, and will help guide you so you know what you have to work at to achieve your goals as quickly as possible
National Travel
Fantastic- BDO are the mid-market leader in financial services and are only getting bigger and stronger!
The Culture
Absolutely, there were regular social drinks and nights out in various cities throughout the UK during the internship, as well as a boat party on the Thames in the last week
£75 per week for accomodation and reasonable drinks costs (internship was in the Birmingham office)
Broad Street all the way!
Drinks, football, netball, CSR and the possibilities to start new activities are almost limitless.
