The Role
Good insight into the world of banking covering a range of different job roles.
All staff are very welcoming and always willing to give you a hand or offer advice.
My manager was great, drove my placement and was passionate about me and my learning.
Bored, not enough work unless you actively seek it.
You do not tend to feel particularly valued as many people are too concerned with completing their job to their best ability so do not necessarily trust you with certain elements of their work.
Good overview of the sector and insight into where I might want to take my career if I worked in banking or at Santander.
The Company
Good atmosphere with younger members of staff, more senior staff members less likely to begin conversations.
HR dealing with the intitial application were awful, from then onwards it was unclear what my day structure would be and at times I had nothing to do.
I made my own requirements on what I wanted to do and with who, if you don't ask you're likely not to get!
National Travel
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
End of internship interview to secure a place on the graduate programme - yet to be completed.
The Culture
No bonding organised between fellow interns other than a national intern day. More needs to be done at a regional level. Colleagues also never pursued any social relationships.
Average
Manchester is a vibrant city and has nightlife for all to enjoy across varying genres and budgets.
