The Role
I enjoyed my work here a lot and was given interesting and challenging tasks, which helped me to develop new skills and optimise the once I already had.
I always felt a 100 % valued by my team and the people I was working with. I was treated like a "normal" employee rather than an intern.
My manager was always willing to support me in every way and made sure I got the best out my time here. Even at times when she was busy she made sure to make some time for me when I needed it.
Most of the time it was well balanced but of course there were also days when I was busier than others, for example just before a lunch of a new report or event.
The experience that I gained during my placement will help me in my future career and gave me a really good inside look into the communications field.
The Company
The atmosphere within my team was great and we always had fun working together.
The onboarding process was good and the reviewing process throughout the placement was also well organised. What could have been better organised was the starting date of the interns. The interns didn't start all on the same date and it would have been nice to start with a little group. It felt like for some time every week someone new started.
Right now there is no graduate scheme but if there was an offer for me after graduating from University I would definitely consider it.
The Culture
The interns normally met for lunch and sometimes went for dinner/drinks after work.
In general I think the cost of living and socialising in the UK are expensive, at least compared from where I am from.
I didn't live in Reading so I can't really say if the nightlife was good or not.
There are things to do in and around Reading and the connection to London is good.
