The Role
Throughly enjoyed every aspect of it - the rotations were were really helpful as we managed to get an overview of a variety of different departments and towards the final weeks, I saw how they worked in harmony together. My colleagues were all lovely, and took great care of me.
Everyone made sure I knew what I was doing and I was comfortable in all I was doing.
The majority of my supervisors were amazing, making sure I was comfortable in my task and environment. Others were busy, and so did not monitor me as much.
Some days were busier than others, but that is expected as recruitment is an unpredictable field where demand fluctuates and competition is fierce.
As my placement was only for 6 weeks, there was only so much I could learn and practice. I was shadowing my supervisors very closely so even if I was not the main player, I was still very exposed to the roles and responsibilities they had.
I have learnt not to narrow my options, and that recruitment is more than CV's and interviews. I have learnt of the significance of compliance, scrutinising CV's, mapping clients and used several new different softwares.
The Company
I was on a rotational programme, so some offices were more enojoyable than others. Some people had gone on holiday so many poeple were absent. But generally, everyone was lovely.
Many departments weren't sure of what to give us as they did not know what we were capable of. I found that in some departments I was repeating very similar work. Only in my first and last week did I have a plan to go by. This was mainly because the directors of the departments were busy, and so we were left with other people who were really busy also.
Despite everyone being absolutely busy, everyone was curteous and kind and gave me comfort during my time here. I learnt how to use new softwares, such as Peoplefluent and OneTouch and I used equipment I had never used before.
Travel loan
Definitely respect the work that goes on in Hays, and the efforts they put in to their work. The environment is lovely and the poeple are very kind. There is a promotional ladder, which I would be motivated to climb up the top to.
The Culture
The environment was lovely. Everyone was really kind to me, and made sure I was comfortable with what I was doing.
I just had to pay for a coffee in the morning and lunch as oyster card is free...for now.
I did not experience this as this wa sout of my hours.
I was invited to many sports activities, in the morning and afternoon. I don't drink so I could not go out with my colleagues for this.
