The Role
Really good company to work for. Company culture is quite relaxed and always welcoming. The internship itself was incredibly well organised and there were plenty of opportunities to learn more about the business outside of your assigned tem/business area
Workload varied on a day to day basis. Around quarterly and monthly ends the workload increased significantly but never to the point of overworking. In the downtime there was always plenty to be getting on with.
The work I completed was incredibly diverse and I felt it had a lot of value to the team and the wider department.
The Company
The summer internship scheme was very well organised. There was a clear structure set out at the beginning of the internship with regular catch up sessions with members of the HR team where feedback could be given in both directions. There was a lot of focus on individual development with a group presentation organised within the first two weeks of the scheme and an individual presentation which formed part of the assessment which was given half way through the scheme. There were also regular insight sessions into other areas of the business.

Opportunities to advance directly onto the graduate scheme for those who perform well during their internships although I personally wasn't offered a graduate position.
The Culture
HR organised a number of intern social events including a ping pong night, a movie and pizza night and a treasure hunt around the city. At least a couple of nights every week the interns would meet after work and go for dinner/a drink. We would also regularly meet up for lunch.
The company is located near Bank in the city and subsequently the cost of living/socialising, as expected, is quite high. I personally commuted 2 hours from the outskirts of London which I wouldn't recommend - there are definitely plenty of equally affordable accomodation options closer to the company
London is always a great place to go out in the evening and there are plenty of decent bars/clubs near to M&G. only downsides are that it can be quite expensive and it can be quite difficult getting home if you stay out past the last tube time
