    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • I enjoyed every aspect of the internship. There was good overall variety in the work that i did and felt like a valued member of the team.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?

    • I felt that I was able to fit in from day 1. Everyone was more than happy to help me with any problems I had with the work I was completing and everyone went out of their way to chat to me and make me feel involved.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?

    • At the beginning of the internship, I had a meeting with my counselling manager to discuss what i wanted to achieve in the next few weeks. After talking through my objectives, my counselling manager helped me to come up with a plan for achieving these and was able to arrange for me to experience different departments within the office.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?

    • There was always work to do. I spent some time in tax and corporate finance and over a week at a client site carrying out audit work. The rest of the time i spent in the office helping other members of the team with their work.Overall, there was a good variety of work and was always kept busy.

    • I felt that I was trusted to get on with the job after being given initial instruction. If I didn't understand something or needed help, everyone was more than happy to help.

    • I was able to develop many employability skills and my confidence has greatly increased.

    • Everyone was so friendly and we had a good laugh.

    • yes, everyone was willing to get out and have a laugh
