The Role
I had a brilliant 8 weeks at M&G. I learnt an awful amount, had some great experiences, was trusted with a high workload and level of responsibility and got on really well with the team I worked on. The careers team put a lot of effort into making sure you get the most out of your placement.
Very valued. Made to feel like a seasoned member of the team from day one.
My manager and line manager, not to mention teammates and other members of staff, were very helpful and patient in all respects and definitely ensured that I got up to speed very fast and knew what I was doing.
The workload was very constant with a great balance of ad hoc work and long-term projects.
I was given a surprising amount of responsibility, which made me feel like a valued member of the team.
I've gained an awful lot in the 8 weeks here and the skills I've picked up and developed will undoutedly benefit me in my future career.
The Company
M&G has a really unique culture for the city. Everyone, no matter how senior, is very approachable at any hour of the day and there's a tremendous work-life balance.
The Early Careers team did a great job of ensuring we got the most out of the internship, with regular feedback sessions, insight sessions with all business areas and a lot of education in the first week ensuring that we came out with a great knowledge of the industry and company.
My team and the Early Careers team invest a huge amount in personal development.

The Culture
Great social scene between other interns and I was lucky enough to be with a very social team.
Central London is, unsurprisingly, very expensive.
Average, but there are some great pubs around.
Played football a few times with colleagues/other interns
